Requirements For the Award of a Degree

To be eligible for the award of a degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Physics,a candidate must satisfactorily complete the minimum number of units prescribed for the degree. The same course cannot be counted twice in the computation of the minimum units.

A candidate must pass at least 70 units at 200-400 levels. Out of these, 40 units shall be from Physics and/or applied Physics options courses at 300 – 400 levels.

A student who has spent more than two (2)academic years, that is four (4) semesters in excess of the approved minimum period of study to complete a degree programme may NOT be eligible for an Honour classification. The permission of Senate must be obtained in all case of consideration for a Pass degree.

Any student who has spent more than four (4) semesters in excess as stated above in (O) and could not graduate shall be advised to withdraw from the programme.
