Admission Requirements
UTME Admissions
Candidates for admission into the Department must satisfy the University/Faculty requirements, that is, minimum of five Credit passes at ordinary level (O/L) or SSCE or NECO which must include English language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and any one from the following subjects, (Biology or Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Statistics) at NOT more than two (2) sittings.
Direct Entry Admission
- Candidates for Direct entry, after fulfilling the conditions for the UTME admission, must have foremost passes at Advanced level (A/L) in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Chemistry or OND, ND or HND or their equivalent in Geology, Engineering (including Civil) and Pure/Applied Sciences from a recognized University or Polytechnic or College of Science & Technology as may be approved by the University Senate from time to time.
- The direct entry candidates after a written or oral examination organized in the Department may be considered for exemption from some 100 level courses. Also HND holders may be exempted from some course(s) at 200 level as this is subject to Departmental consideration based on evidences before it.
Intra University Transfer
- Only students of the Faculties of Engineering, Sciences with a cumulative grade point aggregate (CGPA) of not less than 1.50 and TNUP of not less than 10 at the end of 100 level shall be eligible for the transfer.
Inter University Transfer
- Students from Science based Faculties and Colleges of other Senate recognized University with A CGPA of not less than 2.00 may be considered for transfer to 200 level. In addition,such candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirement of the University
