Admission Requirements

UTME Admissions

 (i)   General Requirements

The Minimum entry requirement for admission into Olabisi Onabanjo University is a Credit pass in five (5) subjects, including English and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings. In addition, Olabisi Onabanjo University conducts Screening Exercises for all candidates seeking admission into the University. Candidates are also to note that there are other requirements that may be specific to the faculty and/or a Program.

(ii)   Admission Requirements: B.Sc.degreeIN Computer Science, Mathematics and                  Statistics.

(a)    Candidates intending to read B.Sc.degree Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics must satisfy the University and Faculty requirements. The minimum academic qualification for entry is SSCE/GCE/NECO with five Credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics/Geography.

(b.)       A candidate who haspassed Mathematics at the ‘A’ level of a recognized GCE or equivalent may be considered for exemption in all or some of the first year departmental courses.

(c.)       A candidate who passed the University’s one year Diploma in Data Processing (DDP) course with not less than a lower credit may be admitted into the 200 level of the degree programme.

iii.        Admission Requirements for B.ScdegreeComputer Science

(a.)       Candidates intending to read Computer Science in the department must satisfy the University and Faculty requirements. The minimum academic qualification for entry is SSCE/GCE/NECO with five Credit passes in English language and Mathematics, Physics and any two (2) credit passes from Chemistry, Biology /Agricultural Science, Geography.

(b.)       A candidate who has passed Mathematics at the ‘A’ level of a recognized GC.E or equivalent may be considered for exemption in all or some of the first year Mathematics courses.

(c.)       A candidate with Diploma in Data Processing (DDP) or its equivalent from any other recognized higher Institution with not less than a lower credit may be admitted into the 200 level of the degree programme.

Direct Entry Admission

Intra University Transfer

Only students of the Faculties of Engineering, Sciences with a cumulative grade point aggregate (CGPA) of 1.50 and above and TNUP of not less than 10 at the end of 100 level shall be accepted and made to offer any outstanding 100 level courses required for units in Mathematical Sciences.

Inter University Transfer

Students from Science based Faculties and Colleges of other Senate recognised University with CGPA of not less than 2.00 may be considered for transfer to 200 levels. In addition, such candidates must satisfy the matriculation requirements of the University.
